Culduthel Woods work to start

This map shows felling and tree works that Highland Council are arranging very soon.

The work is being updertaken by a firm called Apex and supervised by Highland Council. The work may start as soon as the week commencing 25 November.. The Council and contractors are responsible for all safety arrangements, but parents and children are advised to avoid the woods and to take care. 
The Highland Council is taking a lead on this essential tree safety work close to paths and pavements but some remaining trees have been identified as potentially dangerous and can not be tackled until the Culduthel Woods Group have the necessary funds so residents should be aware of the situation and avoid the woods in high winds.

The Culduthel Woods Group is holding a meeting on 10th December: please see the details below.

CC Meeting November 2019

The new Community Council will meet on Monday 25th Nov at 7:30pm in IRA PE Classroom, as usual.

It will start with a brief Inaugural Meeting where office bearers will be appointed, after which an Ordinary Meeting will be convened. We will be delighted to see any or all (!) residents.

Lochardil and Drummond Community Council Election Results

The following candidates were validly nominated and - as the number of candidates nominated was less than the number of councillors to be returned - no poll will take place, so they are declared to be elected as councillors for the Lochardil and Drummond Community Council.

The inaugural meeting of new Community Council will be held on Monday 25 November in Inverness Royal Academy at 7.30 p.m. Highland Councillor Alasdair Christie will initially chair the meeting until a Chairperson for the CC is chosen.

‘Present Voices, Future Lives’ Housing Exhibition - Inverness Royal Academy 4th November 2019

As you may be aware, the Scottish Government is committed to plan together with stakeholders for how our homes and communities should look and feel by 2040. To support the Scottish Government’s wider engagement on the future of housing in Scotland, a travelling exhibition  - curated and designed by Edinburgh University’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA) and Collective Architecture - will be visiting 12 locations across Scotland between 4 November and 16 December.

The ‘Present Voices, Future Lives’ exhibition will spend a full day in each of the locations and will involve daytime workshops with school children and local communities to explore how we want to live in the future.  A curated evening exhibition will be open to the public and will showcase the exhibition and the findings collected from the workshops during the day.  You are most welcome to attend the evening exhibitions.

The feedback collected through the exhibition will help to inform the Scottish Government’s final vision and a route map to 2040, which we will publish in spring 2020.
